Kimberly Lloyd is a luscious lirico-spinto soprano that relocated to New York City after studying bel canto in Florence, Italy and graduating from Jacksonville University. Since coming to New York, Miss Lloyd has sung Suor Angelica with New York Lyric Opera Theatre, Die Marschallin in Der Rosenkavalier's Trio with New York Summer Opera Scenes with Metropolitan Opera Assistant Conductor Joshua Greene, Donna Elvira with Amore Opera, and Leonora from Il Trovatore and Anna Bolena with West Side Opera Society.
This year finds Miss Lloyd performing Aida with West Side Opera Society and Regina Opera Company, and covering Cio-Cio-San for the Princeton Festival. Miss Lloyd was recently reviewed by qonstage magazine's Bruce-Micahel Gelbert who said of her Aida that she “lent the title role a dusky soprano and an easy high C, her “Ritorna Vincitor” marked by urgency, her “O Patria Mia” lush and haunting, and surprised us with a ringing high E-flat to cap the second act.”
